COTTAGE GROVE — The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cottage Grove for Henry Harold "Buzz" Cooper of Cottage Grove, who died Oct. 18 of age-related causes. He was 96. Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church's relief room.

He was born Feb. 24, 1914, in Sofia [sic], Okla., to Henry and Amanda Waters Cooper. He was married to Nellie Frasieur for 65 years. She died Dec. 31, 2002.

He attended school in Dorena. He worked as a blacksmith, then as a millwright at Kimwood and Davidson mills.

Survivors include five sons, Harold of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Dean and Dennis, (deceased) both of Cottage Grove, Alan of Bandon and Kevin of London; a daughter, Nellie Cooper of Cottage Grove; two brothers, Kenneth and Franklin; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
