Mamie Addie Forrester, age 90, of 727 McEwen Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at her residence. A native of Shouns, Tennessee, she was born February 16, 1914 to the late William and Maude Roark Dunn. She was prededed in death by husbands, Dallas Potter, who passed away in 1942 and Ernest F. Forrester, who passed away in 1999, infant daughter, Juanita; one sister, Ruby Dowell, two brothers, Ferd Dunn and Clinton Dunn; one grandson, Tracy L. Potter; one daughter in law, Wilda Potter and one son in law, W.D. Johnson Jr. Mamie was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking quilting. She was of the Baptist faith and had attended Central Baptist Church.
Mamie is survived by one daughter, Betty J. Johnson of the home; three sones, Thurl W. Potter and wife Linda, Earl J. Potter and wife Ruth, all of Mountain City, Tennessee and Elmer Potter and wife Janice of Butler, Tennessee; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; three sisters, Ira Curd, Ella Parsons and Olive Johnson, all of Mountain City, Tennessee; one brother, Billy J. Dunn of Mountain City, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mamie will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Meadows and Rev. Frank Woods to officiate. Music will be directed by Narrow Road.
Family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. prior to Services at the Funeral Home. Graveside Services and Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2004 from the Sunset Memorial Park.
Active Pallbearers will be Friends. Honorary Pallbearers are: Dr. Floyd Barker, Hospice Staff of Johnson City and Staff of Home Health of Mountain City.
At other times friends may call at the residence of son, Thurl Potter, 975 Cold Springs Road, Mountain City, Tennessee and/or at the residence of the daughter or other sons. Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is serving the Forrester Family.
