Hulda Sorensen at time of immigration was 5 years 9 months (b. 1886 d. 1958). The 1901/1902 Cedar Falls City Directory lists a Hulda Sorensen as a domestic living at 411 Tremont. The 1910 Iowa Census lists Hulda as being married to Jens Rasmussen and having a son Lester. A certificate of marriage showed Hulda marrying Jens Peter Rasmussen in Voohries, Iowa 9/9/1909.
Hulda loved to bake and her coffee cakes were supreme. There were always good smells from the kitchen when we arrived at Grandma's house in Dodge Co. Since I spent most of my summers in Dodge Co with Uncle Walter I had the pleasure of many sweets with Grandma.
