George "Plum" Farris, 61, of Fulton, died Tuesday March 7, 2000, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
He was born March 3, 1939, in Calwood to the late Charles Emmett and Ethel Esrigg Farris. Survivors include his wife, Lenora Dye, of Fulton, two daughters, Bonnie Vestal of Mexico and Tammy Relford of Auxvasse: four step-children, Tony Dye of Fulton, Jackie Ison of Williamsburg, Jody Dye of St. Louis and Steve Dye of West Bend, Wis,: Three brothers, Emmett E. Farris of Fulton, Donald Lee Farris of Mexico and Charles "Tiny" Farris, Jr. of the state of Arizona; One sister Margaret Brewer: two half-brothers, Joe Maddox of Fulton and Don Maddox of Calwood: two half-sisters, Rosa Garrett and Peggy Roberson, both of Columbia: 19 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also preceeded in death by two brothers, one sister and one stepson. He had been employed with the city of Fulton as a fireman for 12 years. After his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, antique cars and spending time with family and friends. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Debo Funeal Chapel in Fulton. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Fulton.
