Myrtle Y. Hill of Otsego, MI passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Myrtle was born November 10, 1925 in Otsego to George and Eva (Case) Hamilton. She attended Otsego Schools and was a graduate of Otsego High School. On July 4, 1946 in Otsego she married Robert ‘Bill’ Hill and they made their home in Otsego. Myrtle was employed by the First National Bank and for many years by the Otsego Public Schools as assistant to the Superintendent of Schools. She was a member of the Otsego Elks for many years. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband ‘Bill’ and her brother-in-law Dwight ‘Nick’ Nichols. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Deserie Hill of Paradise Valley, AZ, daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Donald Layton of Martin; 3 grandsons, Todd (Wanda) Pomeroy of Gold Canyon, AZ, Scott Layton of Cooper, Aaron Layton of Martin, several great-grandchildren; her sister Ovonah Nichols of Kalamazoo; nephew Greg (Nancy) Nichols of Vicksburg, niece Diane (Tom) Yore of Byron Center; several great nieces and nephews. Former daughter-in-law and dear friend, Sue Kovach of Kalamazoo; many nieces and nephews. Friends may meet with her family from 5-7 P.M. Monday at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where a service will be held Tuesday, March 24 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to In Home Hospice Solutions or the Hospice of your choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
