CERRO GORDO, N.C. -- The funeral for Sammy Edwards was Sunday at Meares Funeral Home chapel in Fair Bluff, N.C. Burial was in Powell's Cemetery in Fair Bluff.
Edwards , 54, died Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at Columbus County Hospital. He was a son of the late Sampson and Fannie Turbeville Edwards .
Survivors include his wife, Sammie Kay W. Edwards ; a son, Jeffrey Lynn Edwards of Cerro Gordo; a daughter, Teresa Edwards of Cerro Gordo; a brother, Johnny Edwards of Cerro Gordo; three sisters, Dixie Gore of Cerro Gordo, Nettie Hardee of Fair Bluff, and Martha Hardee of San Antonio; and three grandchildren.
