Sergeant Lima was a member of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He was severely Wounded in Action by the enemy in North Korea on June 6, 1951 and returned to duty 19 days later. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 23, 1951. Sergeant Lima was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal
