Marlene Morgan Summers Freeman, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away Oct. 23, 2010, in Island Park, Idaho, of a heart attack.

Marlene was born March 22, 1932, in Ririe, Idaho, to Ervin Morgan and Lillie Coles Morgan. She grew up and attended schools in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School.

Marlene married Donald Keveren Summers on April 8, 1954, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Ririe and she was a homemaker and mother. She also worked as a bus driver, grocery clerk, beautician assistant and in production for Beauty for all Seasons. Donald passed away Nov. 18, 1967.

Marlene married Andrew Carl Freeman on May 31, 1974, in Ririe, Idaho. They moved to Idaho Falls 16 years ago.

Marlene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed needlepoint, scrapbooking, pinochle, embroidery and camping. Marlene loved people and especially loved autumn.

Marlene is survived by her loving spouse of 36 years, Carl Freeman; two sons, Bryon Arthur (Laurie) Summers of Rigby, Idaho, and Michael Don Summers of Blackfoot, Idaho; five daughters, Carla (Dennis) Compton of Vaughn, Mont., Cindy (Gary) Branson of Idaho Falls, Connie (Derek) Hesse of Idaho Falls, Corinne (fiance, Darryl Kluksdal) Bendz of Idaho Falls and Carma (Roger) Slinkard of Portland, Ore.; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Summers; two brothers, Ervin Edward (Sonny) Morgan and Verl Adrian Morgan; and an infant son.
