Baz Wellman, 80, of 65 Arrel Road, Poland, OH, died recently after a five month illness. Mr. Wellman was born September 20, 1893, in Louisa, KY, a son of Lindsey and Rose Diamond Wellman. He lived in North Lima for a number of years before moving to Poland. He was owner of Wellman Greenhouse in North Lima, later located in Poland and was a member of Columbiana Tabernacle church. His wife, the former Maggie Wilson, whom he married December 1, 1914, died March 31, 1966. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Rose Ockerman of Hernando, FL, Mrs. Alic Weaver of North Lima, Mrs. Ernestine Bush of New Springfield, Mrs. Dorothy Smith of New Waterford, Mrs. Louise Detwiler of Columbiana and Mrs. Anna Detwiler of Niles; four sons, Herman (Cy) of Lisbon, Lowell and Lonnie both of Columbiana and Pete of North Lima; a sister, Mrs. Laura Hayes of Jackson, OH, and 39 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
