John M Weishaar Passes Away at St James' Hospital Following an Operation
Funeral services for John M Weishaar, 1663 Aberdeen street, who died at St James' hospital Sunday evening following an operation, were held at St Agnes Church Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock. He was 76 years of age. He had been failing for several months, but a few days previous to his removal to the hospital his condition grew much worse.
Mr Weishaar was one of Bloom's pioneer citizens. He was born in Germany, June 25, 1837. When 6 years of age he came to America and settled on a farm southeast of town which place he made his home until about twenty years ago, when he retired and moved to the city.
In 1860, he was married to Susan Kloss, and to this union eleven children were born, all of whom are living. They are: Joseph and Anthony of this city, John of Monee, Mrs Joseph Reichert, Mrs Minnie Lux, Mrs John Limperich, Mrs John Richard, and Mrs Frank Klein of Chicago Heights, Mrs Dale Schoonmaker of Middlewater, Texas, Mrs Emil Wolf of Steger and Mrs Charles Mayo of Harvey.
Rev Father Weishaar of Hammond, Indiana, a nephew, celebrated solemn high mass, assisted by Father Welsh and Father Hayden. The pallbearers were F Kalvelage, J Loehmer, V Marthaler, John Klein, Henry and August Reichert. Internment was made in Strassburg Cemetery (Sauk Village).
Beside the widow and children, forty-two grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren were left to mourn. The floral offerings were many and beautiful and bespoke the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones.
