Lee L. Payne 88, of 590 Bolivar Drive died at 10:25 p.m. Thursday in Bradford Hospital where he was admitted Aug. 29.
He was born June 24, 1900, in Eldred Township, Jefferson County, the son of Alex and Nancy Anthony Payne.
He married Aletha Jacoby on June 30, 1937 in Smethport.
Starting in May 1929, Mr. Payne was employed by the Manufacturers Gas. Co. which later became Columbia Gas Co. retiring in 1965.
He is survived by his wife; 2 daughter, Mrs. Rita Paul of Bradford and Mrs. Doris Waite of Angola, Ind.; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother David Payne of Bolivar, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, seven brothers, and a grand-daughter.
