When she was six months old her family came to Kansas in a covered wagon, settling on a farm nine miles northeast of Marion, Kansas. The school house where she attended also served as the meeting place for Sunday School and Church. She was converted and joined the Evangelical Church when nine years old. At 14 years of age she moved, with her family, near Marion where she finished her schooling.

In 1920 the Miller family moved to Cheyenne County, living on a farm four miles east of St. Francis. Mr. Miller's health failed in 1941, so they moved to town. At that time, they transferred thier membersip to the St. Francis First Methodist Church where she had been a constant member when health permitted.

At the time of her death she had been in ill health for five years.
