George was the first born child of Marcellus and Emma Bach Abel. He worked mainly in the security industry as a detective. He was working as a special officer for the rail yards in the 1930's and was working as a detective in some manner until his retirement. He always lived at home with his mother Emma Bock Abel and sister Emma Abel.
On the 12th day of February in 1961, for reasons that remain unknown, George took his own life using his service revolver. He was 76 years of age. He was buried in the Abel family plot in Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
