Funeral services for Mr. Charles Dale Neal, 65, will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Port Hudson National Cemetery, Port Hudson. Arrangements entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre.

Dale was a resident of Port Barre. He passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Lafayette. He was a avid cook and dearly enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He had a wonderful personality mixed with sarcasm and humor and was known for lending a helping hand. He served in the U.S. Army, was a Master Mason for 36 years, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, member of East Gate Lodge 452 in Baton Rouge; Noble of the Mistic Shrine, Habibi Temple in Lake Charles. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring hot rods and spending time with his family.

Dale was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife, Libby Gail Fabacher Neal, of Port Barre; a daughter, Terry Neal Whittington and her husband Darryl, of Port Barre; his brothers, Barney Neal, of Baker; his sisters, Stephanie Pitre, Deborah "Debbie" Hedrick and Phyllis Rambo, all of Baton Rouge; a grandson, Air Force Staff Sgt. Dustin Blake Neal, of Albuquerque, N.M.; three step-grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Leslea Wascom, Lauren McClendon, and D.J. Whillington; and five step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Anna Lee Thibodeaux Neal; and a brother, James Neal.
