Wayne Stewart passed away October 10, 2010 at Northern Nevada Medical Center, at the age of 92, with his family by his side. Wayne was born in Eureka, Utah on June 21, 1918 and resided in Payson, Utah. He married Melba Harrison and had three children. He was a World War II veteran and after being discharged from the Navy, the family moved to Sparks. He opened his own business: Wayne's Richfield, Stewart's ARCO and Stewart's AMPM. He hired many college students helping them with college expenses. Wayne was the loving husband of Melba for 51 years and the loving father of Joan, Paul and Ross. A few years after Melba's passing, Wayne married Marie Stevenson of Payson.
Preceding him in death are three sisters, two brothers, his wife, Melba, and son, Ross. He is survived by his daughter Joan Snyder (Don), son Paul (Clara) daughter-in-law Cathy, brother Boyd (JoAnn), wife Marie, eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Private burial was held October 14th at the Sierra Memorial Gardens. A memorial is to be held October 23rd at 1:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1114 Prater Way, Sparks. Wayne's family wishes to thank the staff at Bonaventure for his excellent care.
