A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Acacia Park Cemetery, Chicago.
Born June 12, 1923 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Wauconda Health Care Center.
She is survived by her children, Allen (Sylvia) Briggs, Nancy Simmons, Gail (Steve) Rucker, and Lynn (Michael) Borchert; a daughter-in-law, Catherine Briggs; her grandchildren, Kari (G. Lee) Wolff, Daniel (Karen) Briggs, David Briggs, Kathleen Briggs, Aimee (Michael) Rode, Brian Simmons, Charles (Emily) Rucker, Keith (Kristin) Rucker, Gary (Jenne Schultz) Rucker, Sean Borchert, and Christopher Borchert; her great-grandchildren, Kailey, Logan, Madison, Jadon, Tyler, Shannon, Emily, Reilly, and Brady; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Celestine De Pons (nee Oziol); her husband, Merton L. Briggs; a son, Donald Carl Briggs; and her brothers, Armand and Jean De Pons.
