Komodoski Funeral Held Saturday
John W. Komodoski, 70, a long time resident of this community, passed away at the Fort Benton hospital last Tuesday, June 21st, after a lingering illness of over a year.
Mr. Komodoski was born Feb. 3, 1879, in Warsaw, Poland, coming to this country and settling in Pennsylvania. On May 20, 1909, he was married to Mary Martha Karol, who passed away suddenly on May 16 of this year. In 1912, they came to Sand Coulee, Mont., from Pennsylvania, and in 1915 came to Big Sandy where they homesteaded southeast of town here. They lived there until eight years ago, and at that time moved to Big Sandy.
Survivors are two sons, Joseph, who is serving in the Merchant Marines, and Orville of Oakland, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Donat of Big Sandy; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Dominiak of Bedford, Ohio, and Mrs. George Fontilla of Corlinville, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
Mass was celebrated at Margaret Mary's Catholic church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Fr. Balthussen as celebrant. Interment was made in Big Sandy cemetery beside the grave of Mrs. Komodoski.
