Russ Julian, 86, died Saturday morning, May 17, 2003, after a long battle with leukemia at his daughter's home in Livingston. Cremation has taken place at Franzen Davis Crematory. Graveside services and committal of his cremated remains in Wilsall Cemetery will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, with a reception to follow at the Wilsall Senior Citizens Center. The Pastor Dave Barnhart will officiate.

Russell was born near Chadbourne, Montana, on May 26, 1916, the son of Robert and Georgia Julian. he attended school and received his education in Clyde Park. He married Wanda Landis on March 22, 1939, in Bozeman. They ranched near Wilsall until retiring and moving to Livingston in 1975.

Russ was involved in rodeo for many years and was one of the founders of the Wilsall Rodeo Association. His greatest love in life was his horses, blue heeler dogs, ranching and working cattle. Russ belonged to Saddle Club for many years and was a member of the Park County Pioneer Society. He also loved to dance and visit with his many friends. Russell was a devoted family man that delighted in taking care of and spending time with his wife, daughter and grandsons.

He is survived by his daughter Donna (Tom) Kilwine; grandsons, Randy and Ronnie (Cindy) Jackson; great-granddaughter Carey; sisters Bonnie Pinkerton and Betty (Joe) Serr; his good friend Nicky Keough; five step-grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren and 4 step-great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda (Landis) Julian; daughter Debra Jean Julian in 1957 at age 3; his parents, Robert and Georgia Julian and his foster brother, Robert.
