Dorothy Faye CARNEY Roberts was born in Liberty, Putnam Co. WV. the daughter of William Franklin Carney and wife Luzannia Alice WOODALL. The family moved to Charleston, WV (west side) When she was two years old.
Dorothy had three sisters, Gertie (who died at birth) Vella Belle 1901-1976 who married Joe W. Derrick, and Ruth Turley Carney who was married twice, and had a daughter Sheliah Ann (BOGGESS).
Dorothy had five brothers, all deceased, Robert Roy Carney, Delbert Dewitt Carney, Thadious Turley Carney, Milford Maxwell Carney, and Rev. Willard Foley Carney.

Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Charleston's West Side until the age of 91 when she relocated to Springville, Oregon to be near her daughter Shirley Ruth Boothe.
Dorothy had married Frank Roberts May 17, 1935 in Greenup Ky. They had one daughter Shirley Ruth born in Charleston, WV. 8/19/1936. She married Allen Boothe and lives in Oregan.
Dorothy passed away on October 17, 2010, in Springfield, Oregan of age related causes at the age of 96.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Allen Boothe of Springfield OR. grandson, Douglas Boothe and his wife, Sarah; grandson, Steven Boothe and his wife, Lisa; and two great-grandchildren, Mattison Boothe and Hillary Boothe.
Mrs. Roberts worked in the Charleston, WV City Hall for over twenty years, and was Traffic Clerk for Charleston for several years until her retirement in 1978.
Mrs. Roberts' husband, Frank, preceded her in death in 1979. In her later years, she enjoyed extensive travel and visiting her family.
Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston, WV. on October 23, 2010 beside her husband Frank.
