Alberta May Umlauf, 82, Fergus Falls Route 1, died early Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Lake Region Hospital. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan C. Abrahams officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Morton, she was born Jan. 22, 1900, in Maine Township, where she grew up.
On June 5, 1916, she and Carl Umlauf were married. The couple had a blacksmith shop and resided at Weetown, moving several years later to Luce where they owned and operated a garage. In the late 1920s they moved to Star Lake, where they farmed and operated a sawmill for many years. Her husband died in December 1963.
In 1969 she moved to Fergus Falls, residing at the home of a daughter here since 1976.
She was a member of the Dora Lutheran Church before coming to Fergus Falls and joining the Trinity Lutheran congregation.
Visitation at the Glende-Johnson-Nelson Funeral Home will be all day Thursday, resuming at church one hour prior to services Friday afternoon.
