George W. Powell
Memorial services for George William Powell were held Wednesday, June 14, at the Red Lion Motor Inn in Pendleton.
Mr. Powell, 79, of Pendleton, died Friday June 9, 1995.
He was born may 17, 1916, at Brownsville, Ore. to George B. and Ida Pugh Powell. He grew up in Pendleton and was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as Sergeant First Class with the Oregon National Guard until 1951.
He worked for Arden Farms for many years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
He was an avid rock hound, baseball fan, sportsman and enjoyed reading.
Survivors include daughters, Patricia Dirr of Milton-Freewater, Arlene Flynn of Pasco, and Kim Ermler of Portland; son, Gary of Bend; brother Randy of Ocean Park, WA, and five grandchildren. Burns Mortuary of Pendleton had care of arrangements.
