for Armour, Rebecca Agatha (Thompson) says she was a teacher and author. Born Oct 25 1845 in Fredericton, eldest daughter of Joseph Armour and Margaret Hazlett; m. there Jan 22 1885 to John G. Thompson; they had no children; d. there April 24 1891.


Her father came from Coleraine (Northern Ireland) in 1820, and was a merchant and a grocer. Her parents were Presbyterians born in Ireland and she attended St Paul's Church. She graduated from the Provincial Teachers' College in 1863 and taught in Fredericton. In 1873 she moved to southern New Brunswick, probably to Lancaster (Saint John West) where she began writing stories and her novel Lady Rosamond's secret: a romance of Fredericton was published.

On Jan 22 1885 she married John G. Thompson, a Fredericton carriage maker.

She died in 1891 within three weeks of her mother.
