Kay was born July 5, 1944 in Grand Junction, the daughter of Arthur and Wauneta Adams Baker. She married her husband of 48 years, Dell F. Duran on Labor Day in 1962.
For many years, Kay owned and managed the Alamosa Bowl bowling alley, until her retirement. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed a good game of Scrabble. She also enjoyed fishing and gambling.
Kay is survived by her husband Dell Duran of Alamosa; her children: Frank Duran of Alamosa, Troy Duran of Denver, and Craig (Donna) Duran of Alamosa; her grandchildren: Troy "LT" Duran, Derek Duran, Shane Duran, Alicia Kay Duran, and Mara Rachel Duran; her great-grandchildren: Haley Rose and Anastasia; her brother Rick Baker of Grand Junction and her sister Carolyn Godbold of Indiana.
Her parents and numerous brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
A visitation will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 9-10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service 10 a.m. at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. Interment will follow services in the Alamosa Cemetery. Rogers Family Mortuary of Alamosa is in care of the arrangements.
