Phillip Howard Grissom, 72, of Hickman, Ky., died 11:23 a.m. Oct. 28, 2010, at his home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at West Hickman Baptist Church in Kentucky, with the Revs. Jason Sipes and Henry Callison officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the church from 6-8 this evening and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of services. Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton is in charge of arrangements.

The family requests that memorials be made to American Cancer Society, 302 Carr St., Fulton, KY 42041; or West Hickman Baptist Church, 1003 Broadway, Hickman, KY 42050.

He was born April 30, 1938, in Fulton County, Ky., son of the late Ruben and Christine (Anderson) Grissom. He married the former Jo Gaddie June 7, 1959. She survives. He was a member of Hickman First Baptist Church and had been a Kentucky Farm Bureau insurance agent for 38 years before retiring.

He had lived in Hickman most of his life and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a charter member of Quail Unlimited.

Survivors also include two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Denise Grissom and Lynn and Treva Grissom, all of Hickman; and five grandchildren, Grant Grissom, Linsey Grissom, Annagregory Grissom, Greyson Grissom and Trace Owen Grissom, all of Hickman.
