To them were born Lester, Leonard, Weldon, Robert, Don, Etta Marie McWain, and Reta Pruitt. in 1931 Viola (Sprowl) died and is buried at Holloway Cemetery near Luella, Texas.
He was father to 12 children.
In 1933, at Durant ,Oklahoma, Lionel troy Pruitt married his second wife, Ida Arsula Wiggins. To them were born Rachel Dawn (still-born), Clyva Jayne (DeFratus), Ida Vivian, George Edward, and Ernie Doyle Pruitt.
