Otto was the son of Daniel B. McKim and Sarah (Groom). He married Lora Blanche Burkheimer on May 31, 1902 in Worth Co., MO. One son, Edward Daniel, was born 10 April 1903.
Otto was in the employ of some railroad and was badly injured in an accident in Winnebago, Neb. on Jan. 29, 1911. He was taken to the hospital in Sioux City, IA. where he died. His brother Elder Ezra McKim received a telegram announcing his brother's death and he immediately went to Sioux City to bring his beloved brother's body back home for burial
