Katherine Ann Minch of Longmont died Friday, Jan. 31, 1997, at a local care center. She was 87.
She was born July 15, 1909, in Frank, Russia, to Henry Eisenach and Mary Krening Eisenach.
She came to the United States with her family in 1912 and settled in the Loveland area, where she worked on the family farm.
She married John Minch February 16, 1929, in Greeley. They moved near Mead where she was a homemaker and mother. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Minch loved to fish. She enjoyed taking care of her 25 cherry trees and dog, Skippy.
She was preceded in death by one son, Vernon Minch, and two sisters, Lottie Frank and Mary Morhlang.
Survivors include two sons, John Minch of Longmont and Ed “Bud” Minch and his wife, Diana, of Mead; one sister, Mollie Bectlholdt of Cheyenne, Wyo., 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3; and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Isernhagen of Bethlehem Lutheran Church officiating.
Interment will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church c/o Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel, 503 Terry Street, Longmont, Colo. 80501.
