Harvey LeRoy Dorr
Harvey LeRoy Dorr of Longmont died on Tuesday, April 20, 1993, at Boulder Community Hosopital. He was 78.
Born on July 12, 1914, on the family farm south of Longmont in Old Burlington, he was the son of Arnold Dorr and Anna Wells Dorr. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a boatswain on the LT boats.
He married Ruth McLean on July 31, 1953, in Longmont.
After returning from the service, Mr. Dorr worked for Guy Hart as a cattle truck driver. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Kewitt Construction, Pendleton Construction and Golden Construction, retiring from that company in 1985. After his retirement he worked part time for Dave Taylor Ford as a courier.
He belonged to First Christian Church in Longmont. He was a member of Local Union No. 9 for 45 years, serving as business agent from 1960 to 1962.
Mr. Dorr was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Dorr and Earl Dorr, and one sister, Edna Whitstone.
He is survived by his wife of Longmont; three sons, Bob Bjorge and his wife Diane and Kim Dorr and his wife Paula, all of Longmont, and Kelly Dorr and his wife Jan of Colorado Springs; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 1993, at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery, with the Rev. Rick Rusaw of First Christian Church officiating.
