Melvin L. Schormann, 66, of rural Dieterich died at 12:15 a.m. today, November 3, 1999 at Saint Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Dieterich with burial in the church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Wright Funeral Home, Dieterich. Memorials may be made to St. John's building fund or Lutheran Care Center.

Mr. Schorman was born February 13, 1933 in Effingham the son of Arthur and Mathilda (Zimdars) Schormann.

He was a retired farmer and truck driver; member of St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Dieterich, where he had held various church offices; member and former director of the Effingham County Farm Bureau; member of bowling leagues in Effingham; original member of Lutheran Care Center Committee; former member of Effingham County Extension Council. He was a 1950 graduate of Effingham High School and served with the U. S. Army.

Survivorsinclude his sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Joan) Bohnhoff of Dieterich and Mrs. George (Nadine) Coussens of Avon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
