He was born at Morgan Center on July 17, 1878, to son of the late Moses and Julia Vance Baker.

He was one of eight children born to the union . Two sisters and a brother , who survive are James of Addison , Mrs Ora Roush , Cheshire and Mrs. Orin Gritzsinger of Stubenville.
Mr Baker attended the Morgan Center and Faneil Hall schools.

His first marriage was to the former Daisy Johnson and she died 17 months later. His second marriage was to the former Emra Foldern of Dexer. who survives him.

They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on Feb 8, 1960.

Seven children survive the second marriage, Allen and Sidney of Gallipolis, Raymond of Middleport , Mrs Esther (Robert) Gordon of Cheshire, Mrs Julia (Sam) Theiss of Addison , Charles Baker of New Boston and Robert Baker at home.

Mr Baker was a member of the Garfield Ave Church of God
and services will be held there, Rev Cecil Mayle Miller Funeral Home in charge.
