James Lucius Visart was the great grandson of Julien Marie Phillippe Joseph Visart, Count de Bocarme and Hortense Pollet of Hainaut, Belgium, who immigrated to the French settlement of Arkansas Post in the Arkansas Territory between 1833 and 1835. James Lucius was born to Julian David Visart and Elizabeth Palmer Marshall in Villemont, Arkansas and emigrated to Bangs, Brown county, Texas with his parents, where he married Birdie Byars about 1897. He died of pneumonia the day after Christmas, 1907.
