SALEM - Ida Belle (Dunnagan) Lee, 84 of Salem passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, October 28th surrounded by family. Ida was born in Faxon, Oklahoma on October 1, 1926, the youngest of 9 children born to Ida Lou and Thomas Dunnagan. She lived on a farm outside town as a girl, later traveling west to join a sister in Astoria, Oregon. Like many wartime young women, she met her future husband in a dance hall in Hammond. Ida and Norman Lee married November of 1948 in Astoria. Together with Norm they raised five children. She considered children and family her proudest accomplishment. She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Norman and daughters Linda Sly (Richard) Salem, Norma Buckno (Ray) of Keizer, Mary Free, of Stayton; and sons Rolland Lee (Diane) of Midvale, Utah and Matthew Lee (Connie) of McMinnville. Ida cherished her 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, November 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Weddle Funeral Chapel, 1777 N. 3rd Ave. Stayton. A Funeral Service is planned on Friday November 5, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Weddle Funeral Chapel with the burial service following at Fox Valley Cemetery, Lyons.
