Obituary - Lanark Era - May 7,1930 -
Perth, March 22nd, James Duncan Allan, aged 82 years. He was born at Allan's Mill, February 20th, 1848, the son of the late John Allan, and Anne McLean. He was married at Carleton Place, Feb. 10th, 1873, to Sophia Marshall, of Ramsay. They had six daughters, of whom two have died, Minerva, wife of Fred Clark, the eldest and Mable, the youngest. The four survivors are; Annie (Mrs. Millar); Nellie (Mrs. Thos. Miller); Blanche (Mrs. John A. Geddes); and Viola (Mrs. J.A. Ferguson). Survived also by one brother, Robert Allan, of New Ontario, and one sister, Mrs. Samuel Donaldson, of Alberta.
