George Ray Ellison, 69, son of the late Joseph and Retta Mulinax Ellison, died at Mansfield, Ohio, Wednesday, Feb. 16. He had resided there for a number of years. He was born August 26, 1896, and was a Wirt County resident during his younger years. He is survived by one son, one daughter, and four grandchildren. Also surviving are five half-brothers, Ralph Ellison of Mansfield, Roy and Willie Ellison of Parkersburg, Emery Ellison of Road Run, Wirt County, and Alfred Ellison of Rt. 1, Petroleum; one half-sister, Martha Wilson of Waterloo, Iowa; and his step-mother, Mrs. Martha Ellison, of Petroleum. Funeral services were held at the Rose Hill Church on Saturday, Feb. 19. The Rev. John Collins officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Ruffner Funeral Home of Mansfield was in charge of the arrangements.
