Walter A. McCune, 717 Summit Avenue, died at his home yester-
day at 4:20 p.m., after an extended illness, aged 81 years.
Born in Mercersburg, he was the son of the late J. T. and Mary
(Atherton) McCune. Most of his life had been spent in Hagerstown.
He was a member of the Emmanuel Evangelical United
Brethren Church, the Woodmen of the World, and a retired employee
of the Hagerstown Post Office.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Anell (Grimm) McCune; son, J. B. McCune, Hagerstown; one grandson; sisters, Mrs. Harry Brandt, Hagerstown; Mrs. Harry McCall, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Murray Bachtel, Hagerstown; brothers, J. Howard McCune, and Ralph McCune, Hagerstown.
The funeral will be held at the Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro, Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Dr. John W. Fisher. Encryptment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon and evening.
