Mrs. Katherine Mariah Woolworth Luce, 91, who formerly resided at 4430 Springfield st. Sioux City,IA, died Saturday at a San Diego hospital, where she was taken after suffering a hip fracture about two months ago.


Funeral services and burial will be in San Diego. Where she resided since 1941.


Mrs. Luce was born June 8, 1869 at Arena, Wi. For a number of years she resided on a farm on Perry Creek rd in Sioux City, IA before moving to Springfield street.


She was a member of the Presbyterian church in Leeds, IA and former president of the Ladies Aid Society. She was also a member of the Rebekah lode and Women's relief corps.


Survivors include a son, Ernie L. Luce of San Diego; a daughter, Nona Topf of Sioux City, IA. Three grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a brother, Samuel Woolworth of Hinton, IA and a sister, Mrs. Rose Hough of Marysville, CA.
