Monty P. Freeman, 64, of Rigby, Idaho, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at his home.

He was born Oct. 9, 1946, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Paul Frank Freeman and Betty Jane Wilson Freeman. He was raised in Plano and attended schools in Sugar City, graduating from Sugar City High School.

He served in the U.S. Army National Guard, 116th Engineering Battalion, from 1968 to 1969. On April 6, 1970, he married Pam Telford. They later divorced. On April 9, 1976, he married Renae Passey. They later divorced. He worked for Waddell Brothers Trucking for 17 years. He also drove for Max Kerr Trucking.

Monty was a member of the Bonneville Cutter Association. He enjoyed cutter racing, golf and drinking coffee with his friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Jaime (Matt)Tanner of Rigby, Idaho; son, Jaremy (Shayla) Freeman of Idaho Falls; sisters, Sonia (Larry) Briggs of Rexburg, Cindy Byington of Rexburg and Lori Freeman of Idaho Falls; brother, Brint (Vicki) Freeman of St. Anthony; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Heath Rhodes; and a brother, Lane Freeman.
