Aaron Augustus Allegar, 80, husband of the late Susie Kitchen Allegar, died Tuesday, May 16, 1944, following a long illness. He had made his home for some time with his son, Walter Allegar of rural Flemington.

Mr. Allegar was a retired employee of the Hunterdon County Road Department. He was born in Readington Township Sept 3, 1863, son of the late Aaron and Mary Hummer Allegar, and had resided all of his life in Flemington.

Surviving besides his son are seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Holcombe Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Eugene Abbott, pastor of the Cherryville Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Herman Knickel of Stanton Reformed Church. Burial will be in the Cherryville Cemetery.

His obituary was published in the Hunterdon County Democrat, May 18, 1944.
