Charles White Barber was born 10 Jul 1853 in Rhode Island, and in 1880 he was living in Kansas next door to his uncle Moses Hazard Barber. He married Ann Elizabeth Bradley on 09 Aug 1882.
Charles died relatively young on 20 Dec 1899 and is buried in Cummings Cemetery in Cummings, Kansas. Annie lived almost another 50 years without remarrying until passing away 07 Apr 1949. She is buried next to her husband. Charles and Annie had the following children:
1. Mary Ellen (Ellen) (1884-1970) who married Jay D. Judah in 1930 and moved to Iola, Kansas.
2. Joseph Leonard (1885-1958) who married Florence Anna Freeman 1906 and died in Atchison.
3. Frank Clinton (1892-1916) who married Mary Elizabeth Kroll 1913 in Hastings, Nebraska. Frank Clinton was killed working on the railroad @ 24 years of age Leaving 1 son Edward Burnum b: Jan 1916 d; 1996
