Jessie Magee Naylor

Our beloved Jessie Magee Naylor, (Bebe) 91, departed from this world on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Hanover Hospital in Hanover Pennsylvania. Lifelong resident of Jackson, Mississippi; Jessie recently moved to Littlestown, Pennsylvania where she was residing with her son.

Jessie B. Hammond was born in Newton, Mississippi on September 5, 1919. She was the daughter of JB and Annie Hammond (deceased). She had two sisters Sarah Elizabeth Cannon (deceased) and Frances H. Cummings (deceased).

Jessie graduated from Central High School. She married Knox Earl Magee (deceased) on March 21, 1943. They resided in Jackson, Mississippi. Jessie worked and retired from Mississippi LP Dealers Association where she was the Executive Secretary. Many years after Knox's death, she remarried Col. Robert H. Naylor on March 10, 1983. She was a member of the Broadmoor Baptist Church and a loving member of the "Sisters" group.

She had many challenges in her life including the fact that she was a 2 time cancer survivor. She was a strong and valiant woman. Jessie's life was filled with people, laughter and love. She was the most unique soul who had the ability to touch peoples' hearts, whether they were old friends or new acquaintances. Her transparent love of our Lord shone by all she did and said. Jessie's life's accomplishments were much more than any of the awards she won or honors bestowed on her. Hers is a legacy of love.

She is survived by her son, Robert Angell; grandchildren, Dr. Michael Angell and wife, Jill, Douglas Angell and wife, Wendy, and Grace Huffer and husband, Keith; great-grandchildren, Greg, Sarah and Elizabeth Angell (children of Michael Angell); Benjamin, Matthew, Emily and Andrew Angell (children of Douglas Angell); Nicole Nelson and husband, John, Jenifer, Jessi, Joshua, Paul, Ruth, Sam, Alma, Mary-Frances Huffer (children of Grace Huffer); and great-great grandchild, Daniel Nelson (son of Nicole Nelson). Jessie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Jessie will also be missed by the peoples whose lives she has touched, especially her oldest and dearest friends Mary Cook and Robert Mulholland.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Broadmoor Baptist Church, 1531 Highland Colony Parkway, Madison, MS. Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at 11:00 am at Broadmoor Baptist Church, Madison, MS. There will be a visitation at 10:00am prior to the service. The Internment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson MS. Funeral Arrangements made by Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, Jackson, MS.
