Pembroke - Elester Houston Burnsed, 77, died Thursday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital in Statesboro after a long illness. The native of Bulloch County was a retired farmer and a member of Red Hill Primitive Baptist Church near Pembroke.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lorene Lanier Burnsed of Pembroke; a son, James Lester Burnsed of Savannah; a brother, Arthur Burnsed of Pembroke; two half-brothers, Rufus Burnsed of Pembroke and James Burnsed of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Webber of Savannah and Mrs. Buna Bazemore of Pembroke; four half-sisters, Mrs. Carol Kylbert of Melbourne, Fla., Mrs. Arlene Morgan and Mrs. Lois Morgan, both of Claxton, and Mrs. Wendolyn Sapp of Rincon; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services: 3:30 p.m. today at Red Hill Primitive Baptist Church, burial in the church cemetery. Morrison Funeral Home of Pembroke.
