Essex native, Reuel DeLoye Abraham, 87, died at his home in red Oak on Tuesday, November 18, 1986.
Services for Abraham will be held Friday, November 21 at 2:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in essex with the Rev. Kim Kerchal officiating. Burial will take place in the Essex Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled Thursday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sellergren and Lindell Funeral Home in Red Oak.
He was born September 28, 1899 at Essex to Claus and Selma Lindburg Abraham, and married Esther Burg on May 31, 1919 at Glenwood, Iowa. A retired farmer, he lived most of his life on a farm near Essex, moving to Red Oak in August 1978. He was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Essex and had served on the Church Board several times.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy.
Surviving are his wife, Esther of Red Oak; a son DeLoye Abraham and daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Reuelene) Hays, both of Red Oak; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Evangelical Covenant Church.
