Married Tabitha Abbe in Windham, November 16, 1758, CHARLES RIPLEY, born February 25, 1733, son of Jeremiah and Abigail (Carey) Ripley.
He held a commission in the French and Indian War and fought against the Indians in Canada. He was a Lieutenant in the Revolutionary War, was taken prisoner by the British at Monmouth, N. J., and confined in the Sugar House prison in New York.
At a time when he was reduced to extreme prostration by want of food, some refuse bones were offered him. He remonstrated and the keeper of the prison dealt him a blow on the head that instantly killed him.
