The Greenville News (SC) - Monday, November 1, 2010

PICKENS, SC - John M. Abercrombie, 84, formerly of 200 Alfred Rd. died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at AnMed Health in Anderson.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late John M. and Sletty Masters Abercrombie. He retired from T.E. Jones Furniture in Easley, a member of Easley First Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Abercrombie is survived by his wife, Iris Jameson Abercrombie; a son, David Abercrombie (Linda) of Anderson; a daughter, Cheryl Parrott (Max) of Calhoun, GA; two sisters, Annie Bell Evans of Easley and Flo Lunsford of Hixson, TN; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Abercrombie is predeceased by two brothers, W. Leroy Abercrombie and Garland Abercrombie.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Easley First Baptist Church officiated by Dr. John Adams. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Honorary Escort will be the Colie Cleveland and the McCall Sunday School Classes and Dennis Gramlin.
The family is at 1010 Lakeside Dr. Anderson, SC 29621.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Easley, 300 East First Ave. Easley, SC, 29640.
