DIED -- At Brighton, Sacramento Co, California on the 8th day of January last Mrs Lucy Pettit, aged 32 years, wife of Mr Charles Pettit formerly of Trumbull Co, and daughter of the late Asa K Burroughs, Esq.
The deceased left Garrettsville with her husband about a year since for California and had settled themselves confortably in their new home, no doubt anticipating much happiness and prosperity; but in a few short months she was called to part with an affectionate husband in a land of strangers. The deceased had for some time been troubled with a disease of the heart which finally terminated her early existence. One week before her departure, she parted with an infant son, little thinking she should so soon be called to meet and cherish him in the spirit land. The deceased was a kind wife, a valuable friend, and an affectionate mother, living in harmony with all around her. A large circle of relatives and friends mourn, but not as those without hope, and deeply sympathize with the bereaved husband in his affliction.
