ARCHIE J. GALE DIES OF INJURY IN IDAHO CRASH
William J. Blackburn Only Survivor of Four In Fishing Party
Archie J. Gale, Ogden City Detective, died at three o'clock Saturday afternoon in Bonanza, Idaho, from injuries he received when a motor car plunged off the Loon Creek summit Thursday in the Salmon river country of Idaho. The body was taken to Challis, from which point it will be brought to Ogden in a Larkin & Sons' hearse.
Frank R. Rounds and Carl A. Johnson, also of Ogden, were killed in the same accident, and William J. Blackburn, Ogden real estate man, was injured.
BORN IN OGDEN
Mr. Gale was born in Ogden, March 4, 1884, a son of James Chauncey and Elnora Browning Gale. He was educated in the Ogden schools and during his early manhood was associated with his father in the contracting business. In 1911 the family moved to Cedar City and Archie Gale engaged in farming. He married Ruth MacFarlane of Parowan, June 29, 1915. Returning to Ogden in 1922, Mr. Gale became a Patrolman and in 1926 was promoted to the position of city detective.
Mr. Gale leaves his widow and nine children. The children are Ronald, Paul, Verne, Norma, Elnora, Clara, Lavon, Clarence and Kenneth. He is also survived by his father and the following brothers and sisters: T. Clyde Gale, Walter Gale, Frank Gale, and Miss Beatrice Gale.
Mrs. Gale was with her husband at his death.
