Irene M. Boxell, 87

Long-time member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority and Warren resident, Irene M. Boxell, 87, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Wells Community Hospital.

Born in Huntington County on June 7, 1908, she was the daughter of Laban L. and Rosa Sclock Wamsley. She married James Ernest Boxell on Oct. 16, 1926 in Roll. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1963.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are six sons, Charles Boxell, DeWayne (Curly) Boxell, Ronnie Boxell, Max Boxell and Donald Boxell, all of Warren and James L. Boxell of Huntington; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Martha) Glass of Leesburg, Fla.; and 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Bergman-Glancy H. Brown & Son Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral hoe with Rev. Dewey Miller officiating.

The Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren.
