Gay Victor Britton, 76, of Oakland, MD, formerly of Rowlesburg, died Friday June 25, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 23, 1905 in Rowlesburg, a son of late John David and Mary E. Lipscomb Britton.
He was a former bus driver for the Preston County Board of Education.
Survivors include two sons, John of Nutter Fort and Jerry of Clarksburg; one stepson, Calvin Shreve of Forest Hill, MD; seven daughters, Dorothy Isner of Grafton, Mrs. Dominic (Patricia) Fragmin of Anmoore, Mrs. Mary Spencer of Ellimore, Mrs. Floyd (Linda) Bolyard Jr. of Manheim, Mrs James (Jean) Shipe of Keyser, Mrs Kenneth (Edith) Biser of Oakland, MD and Debara Britton of Rowlesburg; on sister, Mary Hager of Rowlesburg; 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 28, at Pine Grove United Methodist Church on Salt Lick with Rev. Marshall Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
