DELTA -- Cecil Frank Baker Jr., age 64, passed away January 21, 2001 in Delta following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born September 18, 1936 in Delta to Cecil Frank and Helen Stevens Baker.

He married JoAnn Bunker April 7, 1961. Solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Later divorced.

Married Judy Warner Peck August 3, 1990 in Provo.

Frank's resume reads like a "Who's Who". Native of Delta. graduated from CSU 1958. Begin 20 year career in dairy business. Partner with his father in Baker Pharmacy. Owned and operated South Tract Livestock, farming and cattle feed-lot in Delta. Delta Sports Center in 1982. President of Millard County Drainage District #4, 30 years, in 2nd term on IFA's Board of Directors. Member of West Millard Kiwanis Club 38 years, member of West Millard Search and Rescue 28 years. Served on Delta Fire Department 21 years, eight years as Millard County Commissioner, four years on Millard School District Board of Education, Delta area Chamber of Commerce, "Days of the Old West" rodeo committee, member of the Utah Antique Tractor Association. Received Delta Area Chamber of Commerce "Area Giant" award 1997 and recognized as Total Citizen of the Year by the Utah State Chamber of Commerce. Recognized as "Outstanding Conservation Farmer of the Year"; received Millard County Jr. Livestock Show "Outstanding Lifetime Support Award". 1998 received Southern Utah University Rural Honors Award. Selected as Grand Marshall of Delta City July 4, 2000 celebration. Member LDS Church, served as Stake Clerk and Boy Scout Leader. Very devoted to his mother and her care after his father died in 1972. Very proud of grandchildren. Enjoyed flying airplanes. Loved outdoors and life on the ranch that he wanted to collect and preserve this life with his collection of antique tractors and farm implements.

Shakespeare once said his life was gentle and so involved with the elements that nature might stand up and say to all the world "this was a man".

Survived by wife: Judy, Delta; daughter: Shelly Helen (Mike) Anderson, Desert; son: Cecil Frank "C. F. "(Michelle) Baker III, Delta; stepchildren: Greg (Michelle) Peck, Lehi; Marianne (Shawn) Bezzant, Cedar Hills; Charles Peck, Salt Lake; eight grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren; and his dogs: Peaches and Patches.

Preceded in death by stepson: Colby Peck and granddaughter: Heidi Bogue.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, 11 a.m., Delta 4th Ward chapel, 190 South 300 West. Friends call at Nickle Mortuary Thursday, Jan. 25, 2000 7-8 p.m. and at the church Friday 9:30-10:40 a.m. Burial, Delta Cemetery.
