Newell Iverson 6/26/12 ~ 2/24/07 DELTA - Hyrum Newell Iverson, age 94, passed away Feb 24, 2007 from natural causes, in Taylorsville. Born June 26, 1912 in Meadow, Utah to Hyrum and Ruby Exile Watts Iverson. Married Maud Goodwin on May 15, 1933 in Kanosh. Later solemnized in Manti LDS Temple. She died May 31, 1999. Graduated Minersville High School and moved to Delta in 1941. Worked at Brooklyn Creamery, M J Roper Lumber Yard, Millard County Road Department, Delta Sports Center and Lake Phil Gas. Last surviving member of original Delta Volunteer Fire Department organized in 1941. 40 years active service in fire department and member for 65 years; State Firemen's Association for 63 years. He loved his family, fishing, camping and sharing his garden with everyone. Survived by daughters: Lois (Elwin) Dutson, Shirley (Dale) Wood, Nadine (Harold) Nicol, son-in-law: Hal Rawlinson, 16 grandchildren: 38 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Wendell, Wells, and Kay; sister: Darlene; sisters-in-law: Betty, Eda. Preceded in death by wife; daughter: Phyllis; grandson; brother and two sisters. Services: Sat. March 3, 2007, 12 noon at Nickle Mortuary, 190 S Center, Delta. Friends call at Mortuary on Sat, 10-11:45 a.m. Burial Delta Cemetery.
